The Turin Giants Appoint Former Italy Head Coach Spalletti

Juventus have appointed ex- Italian national team head coach Spalletti as their manager until the end of the season.

The experienced coach steps in for his predecessor, who was dismissed following the loss to Lazio recently.

The former boss came on board in March to replace Thiago Motta but left after seven months following a string of eight matches without a victory.

Spalletti led Napoli to the Serie A title in 2022-23 prior to assuming the Italy role, who had failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup with Mancini at the helm.

Under his guidance, they made it to Euro 2024 but were eliminated in the round of 16 by Switzerland.

Nonetheless, Italy dismissed Spalletti in June after a World Cup qualifying defeat by Norway, with the Azzurri at risk of missing out on a third consecutive World Cup.

Spalletti's managerial career includes Inter Milan, Roma, and Udinese in Serie A and won the Russian Premier League twice with Zenit St Petersburg.

Juventus were temporarily led by Massimo Brambilla during the 3-1 victory over Udinese on Wednesday which left them seventh in Serie A - six points behind leaders Napoli after nine games.

In the Champions League, they sit 25th in the league phase, after recording one defeat and two ties in the initial three fixtures.
