Hazbin Hotel's Showrunner Is Aware of Your Season 2 Predictions — And She Has Positive Updates

The highly-awaited second season of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel launches on Prime Video this week, and audience theories has been intense.

The first season introduces a large cast of characters living within the afterlife, sets them at odds with songs about their clashes, and builds heated competitions and emotional bonds that fuel fan obsession.

The community's expectations for the new season differ greatly, but certain themes emerge over and over: Could a fan-favorite character break free from Valentino? Might we learn more about the binding agreement affecting the enigmatic Alastor? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Obviously, I don't make the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the showrunner stated recently. "But I feel like me being a devotee of the series means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also want to see these things, and I hope some of these things to occur, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

The creator says her big-picture plan is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by Prime Video and A24, which produce the series.

That might mean viewers have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how quickly the new season moves, and how many of what they're anticipating happens this season.

"I believe people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "There are several debut moments. I think we receive some really amazing disclosures, some fascinating backstories, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] Audiences will experience additional musical numbers from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the theories and desires about season 2 — particularly in the format of audience prediction charts.

"I've seen a couple people create a bingo card about the new season," she says. "Naturally I can't post it, but I've actually done a few items, and nearly every one of them have almost a bingo. I thought, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we do a lot [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I was like, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 launches on the streaming service on Oct. 29.
