Assassin's Creed Reveals Surprising Attack on Titan Crossover for Holiday Season
In a bizarre crossover event that challenges traditional expectations, Ubisoft has announced an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing free bonus story content for Shadows players.
Strange Questline Uncovered
According to the official statement, "A mysterious confrontation leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original adventure, where hints of banned practices and monstrous transformations resonate through the obscurity." The plot presents a "strangely attired woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a hidden group.
The adventure centers on "bizarre trials and a terrifying foe" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Locations and Transformations
The preview features the Hidden Temple from Attack on Titan reimagined as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview ends with a dramatic sequence showing a character, likely the hostage, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Extra Content
Players who successfully complete the quest will obtain an exclusive katana together with multiple artifacts secreted throughout the area in secret chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, featuring:
- Titan-themed costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Special implements
- Survey Corps steed
Newest Free Story Addition
This patch also brings the game's newest free story content, titled "The Mystery." This playful quest pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic skills: Naoe introduces a performative variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also features a original environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some unanswered questions from the main storyline.
